To mark the launch of the exhibition, Blancpain organized a private evening cocktail reception, welcoming more than 150 journalists, influencers and VIP guests. Invited guests had the opportunity to discover the Fifty Fathoms collection from the 50s vintage models to the 2018 novelties, including a preview of the new limited-edition Fifty Fathoms Ocean Commitment III.
Along with the captivating watch showcase, the exhibition is graced with the presence of a Blancpain in-house watchmaker, demonstrating the technical and aesthetic specificities of Fifty Fathoms timepieces. Guests also have the rare opportunity to assemble a Fifty Fathoms movement themselves, while receiving detailed explanations on Blancpain's watchmaking and craftsmanship tradition.
The Blancpain Ocean Commitment pop-up exhibition also presents photographic works captured by Laurent Ballesta — marine scientist, distinguished underwater photographer and winner of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2017 (Earth’s Environments category) — as well as Dietmar W. Fuchs — dive media professional, and editor of the annual limited-edition publication Edition Fifty Fathoms launched in 2008. These photographs were supported by Blancpain in its effort to advance the public’s understanding of the undersea ecosystems.
Finally, Blancpain offers visitors the chance to meet Hong Kong diving enthusiast and award-winning photographer, Alan Lo, who will share his personal experiences from his underwater adventures.
