Gombessa Expeditions - The Fire Under the Sea
Laurent Ballesta's recent scientific expedition in the Mediterranean Sea had a double objective: to study the underwater volcanic activity and discover the unique marine life thriving in extreme conditions.
Financed by part of the proceeds from the sale of the Blancpain Ocean Commitment III limited edition, this exploratory mission was the subject of a documentary film entitled “The Fire Under the Sea”. In this recent expedition, Laurent Ballesta and his team set sail towards the Aeolian Islands, a volcanic archipelago in the north of Sicily, Italy. Discover the beauty of these mountains of fire located more than 100m below the surface.
