Blancpain & PADI

Blancpain and PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors®) have joined forces with the aim to fundamentally increase the number of marine protected areas (MPAs) around the globe, and to directly support the global 30x30 commitment to protect 30% of the ocean by 2030 over the coming decade. At the heart of this multi-year, multi-million-dollar initiative, is the flagship citizen science program Adopt the Blue™, with the goal of establishing thousands of small protected areas through a network of professional divers, dive centers and local communities around the world.

Another keystone of the partnership is the formation of the Blancpain & PADI Community Grant, which funds critical conservation efforts in local communities.

These grants will drive both ocean preservation as well as indigenous community support, serving as a force for good for both humanity and ocean.

Network of MPAs

6 600 PADI-registered resorts and dive centers will be activated to develop the largest network of marine protected areas on the planet, allowing millions of PADI recreational divers to participate actively in marine conservation on each occasion, with the aim of having 10.000 registered locations in the first phase by 2025.
